NDC releases Fall 2021 Diamond Jewelry Trend Report

Diamond jewelry served as tokens of comfort

This report was created by the Natural Diamond Council’s Style Collective, a team of seven industry leaders in retail, fashion, and media who closely follow trends and consumer behavior, and serves as a reference for both retailers and consumers.

Freedom. It’s the one word that best encapsulates the 2021 Diamond Jewelry Trends Forecast by the Natural Diamond Council’s esteemed Style Collective, whose newest members are The Adventurine Founder Marion Fasel, Marissa Collections Buyer and jewelry consultant Jennifer McCurry, celebrity stylist Law Roach, and Elizabeth Von der Goltz, Chief Commercial Officer at Matches Fashion.

As a broad sense of optimism, excitement and the desire to celebrate life returns, many anticipate a modern Roaring Twenties revival. People are yearning to travel, dress up, go out, party and express their individual style beyond the confines of Zoom.

If the awards season’s red carpet, albeit virtual the past year, is still a zeitgeist harbinger, then we can all expect a return to glam where diamonds are front and center.

The NDC Report said, “Our acclaimed Style Collective, a group of seven diamond jewelry experts ranging from Celebrity Image Architect, Law Roach, to Jewelry Historian and Founder of The Adventurine, Marion Fasel, have come together to identify the most exciting diamond trends.

We're ready to leap back into life in its fullest form. While diamond jewelry served as tokens of comfort for many of us over the last year, the anticipation to shift our personal diamond jewelry style to full-blown celebration mode is building.”

These are the most covetable diamond trends we're predicting will bring back the bling to finish out 2021, 1: Heavy Metal Chains, Bold, chunky metal chains adorned by diamonds feels fresh and celebratory.

2: Diamonds & Pearls, A perfect pairing of natural gems set in harmony. White pearls and diamonds are the epitome of chic. 3: The New Hoop, A resurgence of hoops with a twist from center diamond drops to oversized rings, the hoop is back.

4: Gender Free, Diamonds are for everyone! An influx of genderless collections and the recent men's jewelry renaissance were the inspiration here & 5: The Marquise Ring, Marquise engagement rings have been flipped to sit east-to-west and reimagined with sculptural settings for the modern bride.

Styled as statement pieces atop more casual clothing, chunky chains are the antithesis of the lightweight layered jewels that have been popular over the past few years. They’re modern, bold and easy and make for an instant wardrobe update.
