Tenth pre-CIBJO Congress 2024 Special Report released   With fewer than two weeks to go to the opening of the 2024 CIBJO Congress in Shanghai, China, on November 2, 2024, the tenth and final of the pre-congress Special Reports has been released.   Much to learn within our oceans & waterways: CIBJO   With fewer than six weeks to go to the opening of the 2024 CIBJO Congress in Shanghai, China, on November 2, 2024, the sixth of the pre-congress Special Reports has been released. Prepared by the CIBJO Pearl Commission, headed by Kenneth Scarratt, the report looks at environmental and biochemical research being carried out on pearls and in the waters in which the pearl oysters live, and the likely impact that the knowledge gained will have on pearl farming, marketing and the quality of the product itself.   As it did in 2023, the report considers the effects of micro plastics that pollute the waters both in the wild and the vicinity of pearling farms, and which have been detected in sediments and in the oysters themselves. CIBJO unlock registration for the 2024 congress

Dedicated congress 2024 with the programme launched Registration for the 2024 congress of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) is now open. Delegates and other participants may register for the congress via a dedicated congress website located at: www.cibjo.org/congress-2024/   CIBJO’s 2023 annual congress will take place in Shanghai, China’s financial centre and the gateway to what is today the world’s largest jewellery market, from November 2 to November 4. Pre-congress meetings will be held on October 31 and November 1.  The hosts of the congress are the Donghao Lansheng Group and the China Gems & Jade Exchange.
