125 rough diamonds earns $9.1 mn for Alrosa

Alrosa, a global leader in diamond mining, held an auction in Vladivostok for special size rough diamonds (over 10.8 carats). The overall revenue amounted to $9.1 mn. The company sold 125 rough diamonds with total weight of 2,090 carats; 24 firms from the largest centers of diamond trade were recognized as winners in different auction positions. “The first auction this year in Vladivostok completed with good results. The assortment is still in demand among the market participants from the largest centers of world diamond trade. I believe that interest in Vladivostok as a promising trading platform will only grow,” Evgeny Agureev, Member of the Management Board, Director of the United Selling Organization at Alrosa, said. The schedule of Alrosa’s international auctions for special size rough diamonds includes four auctions in Vladivostok in 2019. The next auction will take place there in April; two more are scheduled for July and September.

13.33 carat pink diamond sold at Records price of US$ 656,933 per carat Gem Diamonds Limited (LSE: GEMD) is pleased to announce that a 13.33 carat pink diamond recovered at the LetÅ¡eng mine in February 2019 has been sold on tender in Antwerp for US$ 8,750,360. This represents a record dollar per carat price of US$ 656,933 for a LetÅ¡eng diamond.   LetÅ¡eng has also produced high quality pink and blue diamonds, with a rare blue diamond achieving a sales price of US$603 047 per carat in 2013 and an exceptional pink diamond achieving $187 700 per carat in 2016. LetÅ¡eng ranks in the top 15 global diamond producers by revenue. The large high value diamonds from LetÅ¡eng account for 70% to 80% of the Group’s revenue annually. LetÅ¡eng has grown to be one of the largest open pit diamond mines in the world, processing ore from two kimberlite pipes, the Main pipe 17.0ha and the Satellite pipe 5.2ha. Rouyn-Noranda resource with 762 K Oz plus 455K Oz of gold Granada Gold Mine activities aimed at exploration and development as follow-up to the Company’s recently updated resource estimate at its Granada Gold project in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The Company Estimate resource with 762 K ounces of gold in the Measured and Indicated categories, plus 455K ounces of gold in the Inferred category. The report entitled, “Granada Gold Project Mineral Resource Estimate Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada”, was written by SGS Canada Inc. Frank J. Basa, P.Eng, Chairman and CEO of Granada Gold Mine, stated, “These robust numbers confirm our longstanding belief in the merits of this property, and they form the backbone for our next efforts. TAGS rough diamond tender in Dubai

Scheduled from the 26th March to the 2nd April 2019 Trans Atlantic Gem Sales (TAGS) will be holding a rough diamond tender in the Almas Tower at the Dubai Diamond Exchange in Dubai from the 26th March to the 2nd April 2019. Two regular productions from South Africa and Angola will again be presented including a Namibian production. All materials are of high quality and high colour and contain a significant number of large single stones and exceptional specials. TAGS are expecting in the region of 30,000 carats of South African goods and 35,000 carats of Angolan goods across a full range of sizes. Attempting to become a major diamond industry center The diamond industry in Armenia’s Kotayk Province is experiencing noticeable progress and the number of business operators in the sector is expected to grow soon. Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan told that the city of Abovyan currently has a diamond manufacturing company with 80-100 employees. “There are businessmen who intend to attract major investments by working in Abovyan, associated with the post-revolutionary political situation. Concrete steps are already being made in this direction. Large scale construction has recently commenced in Abovyan, in the territory of the former Sirus factory.
