Donates US$1 million to aid for impacted by the war  De Beers Group has been shocked by the violence in Ukraine and inspired by the bravery of its people. Stephen Lussier to step down from De Beers Group

He will step down from on 1 April 2022 a fter Distinguished 37 year career as Executive VP   Marc Jacheet to join company and lead consumer businesses   De Beers Group announced that Stephen Lussier, De Beers Group Executive Vice President for Brands & Consumer Markets, will step down from his executive responsibilities on 1 April 2022 after 37 years with the company. Stephen will continue to contribute to De Beers as a strategic advisor and will continue to serve in his role as Chairman of the Natural Diamond Council.   Stephen will be succeeded by Marc Jacheet. Marc brings a wealth of luxury goods, luxury jewellery, marketing and digital experience gained over a 25-year international career - most recently as President of Tiffany & Co. Europe, Middle East and Africa, and prior to that as President of Tiffany’s Asia Pacific region. Forevermark launches stores with Fortofino

Launches three stores with trusted partner   Beautiful, natural diamonds now exclusively available in Jammu, Ambala and Ludhiana Forevermark, the diamond brand from the De Beers Group launched three more doors in partnership with Fortofino in North India this week.   Céline Assimon to the business on 1 September   De Beers Group announced that Céline Assimon will succeed François Delage as Chief Executive Officer of De Beers Jewellers. After a decade at the helm of De Beers Jewellers, François will step down as CEO at the end of September, with Céline joining the business on 1 September to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.   Céline has a strong track record as a creative and inspirational leader with extensive global experience across marketing, sales and merchandising in the high-end jewellery and luxury sector. As Worldwide Head of High Jewellery and High Watchmaking Sales at Louis Vuitton, and later on with Piaget as their High Jewellery and Exceptional Pieces Director, Céline has successfully led the commercial development of these brands’ global footprints, with a focus on the most discerning clients. Moving giants conservation initiative

De beers group progresses Conservation initiative in Africa De Beers Group announced that the second translocation of elephants from its Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve (VLNR) in South Africa to Zinave National Park in Mozambique has taken place. The first herds of elephants were corralled at the VLNR on 25 June, before making their journey by road some 1,700km where they were released at Zinave on 27 June. The final herds arrived at Zinave today, bringing the total number of elephants moved in 2019 to 53. The translocation is part of a major conservation effort – known as ‘Moving Giants’ – that aims to move some 200 elephants over three years in a bid to help secure the future of the VLNR, which at the beginning of last year was under threat due to too many elephants impacting the broader ecosystem, and to help repopulate Mozambique’s elephant population. Gemfair to create for Artisanal and small-scale miners Pilot scales up Operations on the ground GemFair, a pilot project developed by De Beers Group, that aims to create a secure and transparent route to market for ethically sourced artisanal and small-scale mined (ASM) diamonds, is scaling up its operations in Sierra Leone to give more miners the opportunity to benefit from the opportunities the programme offers. The GemFair pilot provides ASM diamond miners with access to De Beers Group’s industry leading distribution channel, while seeking to improve ethical standards, working conditions and value for miners within the sector. GemFair has partnered with the Diamond Development Initiative (DDI), an NGO that has been instrumental in helping to formalise the diamond ASM sector in Africa.
