Feriel Zerouki steps down as CTIO, DeBeers

  DeBeers thanks her for contributions & wishes a success    De Beers Group announced that Feriel Zerouki, Chief Trade and Industry Officer [CTIO] and member of the  Executive Committee, has decided to leave the company at the end of October 2025. Feriel joined De Beers in 2005 and has played a central role in shaping the company’s leadership in ethics, provenance and industry integrity.    She led the launch of Tracr and GemFair, two major initiatives that advanced traceability and responsible sourcing in the diamond industry, strengthening consumer confidence and setting new benchmarks for transparency and sustainability.    Beyond her work at De Beers, Feriel has led efforts to enhance the Kimberley Process and improve  transparency in mining-origin certification as President of the World Diamond Council, a role she will continue  until the end of May 2026. Diamond mines pendant to be auctioned

The pendant to be auctioned on 28 November 2024   The Northwest Territories’ three diamond mines – Rio Tinto’s Diavik Diamond Mine, De Beers Group and Mountain Province Diamonds’ Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine, and Burgundy Diamond Mines’ Ekati Diamond Mine - have collaborated on a stunning one-of-a-kind pendant featuring diamonds from all three operations in a unique Northern design.   The pendant, set in 18-karat white gold, features a round brilliant-cut 0.41 carat Ekati diamond, a radiant-cut 0.51 carat Gahcho Kué diamond, and a round brilliant-cut 0.41 carat Diavik diamond. The three diamonds are set in a bespoke caribou antler design, paying homage to the unique Northern origin of the gems. Tracr, the pioneering diamond traceability platform

De Beers-sourced diamonds over 0.5 carats in polished size   De Beers Group announced it will provide data on country of origin for all De Beers-sourced rough diamonds above 1.25 carats that are newly registered on the Tracr platform, the world’s leading digital platform for tracing natural diamonds from source at scale.   From the start of 2025, this will be extended to rough diamonds above 1 carat in size (equivalent to approximately 0.5 carats and above in polished form), thereby aligning with the size threshold for new diamond import requirements for G7 countries. For the first time, this will enable diamond jewellery consumers at scale to engage with the unique journeys their diamonds have taken from source.
