Consumers through BIS Care app, can view the details of hallmarked jewellery such as type of jewellery, purity, name of AHC, name of the jeweller, date of hallmarking, which will help in further raising consumer confidence in gold. Colin Shah, Chairman, GJEPC said, “The time taken for hallmarking of jewellery was a major concern for jewellers. It’s good to know that now the average time for hallmarking has reduced to 28 hours as compared to 87 hours in July.
