Achieves major outcomes & India set a successful milestone!   The Kimberley Process (KP) Plenary 2024, held in Dubai from 12-15 November. The UN-mandated Kimberley Process (KP) Plenary concluded as part of the historic Dubai Diamond Week which gathered hundreds of representatives from across the diamond world including industry, governments, and civil society.    India achieved significant milestones at the Kimberley Process (KP) Plenary 2024, Dubai. A sustainable development of the global diamond industry   Recently, BRICS states to increase turnover of precious metals based on common quality standards! The parties noted that they support the Kimberley Process, the international organization for certification of diamonds "as the sole global intergovernmental certification scheme, regulating trade in rough diamonds" According to the Russian media from Kazan, the BRICS countries intend to increase the turnover of precious metals between the member states of the association, as they announced in the Kazan Declaration of the 16th BRICS summit.    "We support efforts to increase the turnover of precious metals within BRICS based on common quality standards," the document says.  The parties noted that they support the Kimberley Process, the international organization for certification of diamonds "as the sole global intergovernmental certification scheme, regulating trade in rough diamonds."    The BRIC

Historic KP Secretariat in Gaborone Inaugurated

  The Secretariat supports the 59 nodes of the diamond trade!   The UN-mandated Kimberley Process (KP), chaired by Ahmed Bin Sulayem, CEO and Executive Chairman of DMCC, inaugurated the historic KP Secretariat in Gaborone, Botswana.   The new Secretariat office - the first of its kind for the Kimberley Process will employ up to five people in its first year, serving as a hub for institutional memory, continuity, and ongoing support for the KP’s working groups and member countries. The office will be led by Mr Bojun Tang.   The inauguration ceremony was led by KP Chair Ahmed Bin Sulayem and Botswana’s Honourable Minister of Minerals and Energy, Lefoko Moagi, following a courtesy visit to Botswana’s president, HE Dr. Mokgweeti E.K Masisi, during which the country’s firm commitment to the KP was reaffirmed.
