Karowe Mine unearth 1,094 carat rough diamond

  The recovered rough, the sixth of over 1K carats by Lucara   Lucara Diamond announces the recovery of an extraordinary 1,094 carat rough diamond from its 100% owned Karowe Mine in Botswana. This remarkable stone bears striking similarities to the 692 carat diamond announced in August 2023, which was polished by HB Antwerp and yielded polished diamonds that sold for in excess of USD13 million. Result of Mega Diamond Recovery XRT technology of Lucara    Lucara Diamond Corp is thrilled to announce the recovery of an exceptional 2,492 carat diamond from its Karowe Diamond Mine in Botswana. This remarkable find, one of the largest rough diamonds ever unearthed, was detected and recovered by the Company's Mega Diamond Recovery X-ray Transmission (XRT) technology, installed in 2017 to identify and preserve large, high-value diamonds.    The stone was recovered from the processing of EM/PK(S) kimberlite, the dominant ore type that Lucara will continue to target during the first years of the Company's underground mining operations. Approves US$220 million for the expansion   Lucara Diamond Corporation has received credit approved commitments from a syndicate of five Mandated Lead Arrangers for a senior secured project financing debt package of up to US$220 million (the Facilities) to fund the underground expansion at Lucara's 100% owned Karowe Mine in Botswana.   The Facilities will include two tranches: A project finance facility of US$170 million to fund the development of the underground project and a working capital facility of US$50 million to support the on-going operation of the Karowe open pit mine. Financial closing of the Facilities is subject to satisfactory completion of definitive documentation, and satisfaction of certain terms and conditions, including appropriate KYC checks. Lucara recovers 240 carat diamond

Lucara Diamond recovers a 240 carat, top white gem diamond, from its 100% owned Karowe Diamond Mine located in Botswana. This diamond will be shown alongside the 127 carat, top white gem diamond reported earlier this year together with other exceptional diamonds recently recovered from Karowe, at Lucara's upcoming diamond tender closing on March 7, 2019. Since mining began at Karowe in July 2012, a total of 54 diamonds in excess of 200 carats have been recovered, including 12 diamonds larger than 300 carats in size. In addition, Lucara has sold 180 diamonds in excess of $1 million each and ten diamonds have sold for in excess of $10 million each. Lucara Diamond announces the recovery of a 127 carat, top white gem diamond, from its 100% owned Karowe Diamond mine located in Botswana.  Since mining began at Karowe in 2012, a total of 129 diamonds in excess of 100 carats have been recovered, 33 in 2018 alone.  That tally includes 12 diamonds larger than 300 carats in size, of which 5 were recovered in 2018.  In addition, Lucara has sold 180 diamonds in excess of $1 million each and ten diamonds have sold for in excess of $10 million each.
