GJEPC sign MOU for PM Vishwakarma Scheme

  To impart skill training to registered Vishwakarmas!   A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the apex trade body, Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) appointing GJEPC as implementing agency for Prime Minister PM Vishwakarma Scheme on 14th March 2024 in Delhi.  The MoU was signed in the august presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon. Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India; and Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, was present on this momentous occasion.   Sabyasachi Ray, ED, GJEPC, said, “Under the Kushal Bharat Viksit Bharat motto, this MoU will promote initiatives to bring speed and scale to India's skill ecosystem. 270 National Competition winners of felicitated with 61 gold, 77 silver   The winners will represent India at  WorldSkills Shanghai in October 2022   IndiaSkills 2021 Nationals, the country’s biggest skill competition, concluded today with more than 150 participants being felicitated by Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE)-Government of India. The closed-door competition, organised by National Skill Development Corporation under the guidance of MSDE, witnessed participation in 54 skills.   IndiaSkills Competition, which raises the profile and recognition of the youth, brought together over 500 participants from 26 states/ union territories this year. Skill Development Programmes 2020 to benefit 10mn youth The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) implements the PMKV Yojana (2016 - 2020) to encourage and promote skill development for the youth throughout the country. The scheme aims to benefit 10 million youth over the period of four years (2016- 2020). The benefits under the scheme can be availed by any anyone fulfilling the criteria specified in guidelines. In addition, a Special Project is being implemented at 40 locations in 13 states namely Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal by Muthoot Fincorp Pvt Ltd. 80% of the trained candidates will be placed with Muthoot itself (Captive Placement). Competition to be held in Russia This year, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) completed its 4 successful years, since its inception in 2014. For the first time, a ministry created by the Government of India, is keeping its core focus on converging all skill development initiatives in the country under one National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). Annually, more than One Crore youth, have been joining and benefitting from the Skill India program, a mission under the Ministry to equip youth with skills for better livelihood. IndiaSkills 2018, the biggest skills competition of the country, designed to encourage and prepare the youth for the global stage, ended on a grand note in New Delhi in October 2018. More than 400 competitors from 27 states displayed their skills in 46 skills, 7 traditional skills and 4 demo skills, before experts and jury members.
