55 Carat Diamond Recovered
Recovery of fifth +50 carat diamond to date from Mothae Lucapa Diamond Company Limited and the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho announce the recovery of a top-colour 55 carat diamond from the new 1.1 Mtpa Mothae kimberlite plant in Lesotho. The 55 carat stone is the fifth +50 carat diamond recovered to date from the new Mothae mine, where commercial production commenced in January 2019. Since then Mothae mine has recovered the following the successful commissioning and ramp-up phases for the new 1.1 Mtpa plant and an earlier bulk sampling campaign. Lucapa looks forward to updating the market on the first quarter of commercial operations from the new Mothae mine as part of the Company’s upcoming Quarterly Activities Report for the March 2019 Quarter.
