Gemfields auction sales 61% of offered total lots

  Emeralds auction bag average price of USD 4.47 per carat   Gemfields announces the results of an auction comprised of commercial-quality rough emeralds held during the period 27 August – 13 September 2024.   According to the Gemfields, September 2024 Commercial-Quality Emerald Auction, 1: revenues totaled of USD 10.8 million, 2: 46 lots were offered for sale, of which 28 were sold (61%), 3: Average price of USD 4.47 per carat, The 49 auctions of Kagem gemstones held since July 2009 have generated USD 1,052 million in total revenues.   The specific auction mix and the quality of the lots offered at each auction vary in characteristics such as size, colour and clarity on account of variations in mined production and market demand. Therefore, the results of each auction are not always directly comparable. Overall average value Earned USD 4.39 per carat Gemfields announces the result of an auction of predominantly commercial quality rough emerald held in Lusaka, Zambia in February 2019. The emeralds were extracted by Kagem Mining Ltd in Zambia. The proceeds of this auction will be fully repatriated to Kagem in Zambia, with all royalties due to the Government of the Republic of Zambia being paid on the full sales prices achieved at the auction. The 31 auctions of Kagem gemstones held since July 2009 have generated USD 567 million in total revenues The auction saw 24 companies placing bids, generating total revenues of USD 10.8 million with an overall average value of USD 4.39 per carat. Kagem emerald auction earns Forex of $28.4m for Zambia US$28.4 million in foreign exchange earnings has been raised from an auction of high-quality Zambian emeralds – including the exceptionally rare 5,655 carat (1.13kg) Inkalamu emerald - held in Singapore last week. The sale of gemstones from the Kagem mine in Lufwanyama was witnessed by Mr Paul Chanda, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development along with other officials from the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development, Zambia Revenue Authority and the Chief Executive Officer of the Industrial Development Corporation Mateyo Kaluba. “All of the proceeds from the auction will be repatriated back to Zambia,” confirmed Sean Gilbertson, Chief Executive Officer of Kagem and Gemfields, which owns 75% of the mine in partnership with the Zambian government through the Industrial Development Corporation of Zambia, which owns 25%. The auction saw 40 companies placing bids and generating tot
