NDC to launch new education program

Program on naturaldiamonds.com from April 3!   The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) releases the results of a new study by CXG, a leader in the luxury consumer insights space, verifying that natural diamond education at the retail point of sale is critical to sales conversion. Findings proved that 93% of customers were more inclined to make a purchase of natural diamond jewelry when they felt sufficiently educated on natural diamonds by a sales advisor.   As the study presents, there is significant opportunity for deeper education on natural diamonds at the retail points of sale. Millennials and Gen-Z buy natural diamonds jewelry: NDC

NDC Research Report on Desirability of Diamonds  among Gen-Z and Millennial Consumers unveiled! 96% of the cohort is active on social media!  72% of diamond jewelry purchases by female consumers! Natural Diamond Council conducted broad diamond desirability research through 360 Market Reach in the final quarter of 2020 among 5,000 respondents between the ages of 18-39.  The analysis shows diamond jewelry leading as the most highly desired, and tangible luxury good overall (after being prompted with nine luxury items to choose from if money were not a concern).   Vacations were the only luxury items ahead of diamond jewelry for both generations. Respondents also largely attribute their affinity for diamonds to uniqueness as 70% agree natural diamonds are “one of a kind.”  Another area of value for respondents was the symbolism diamonds carry for love and connection. De Beers Group is pleased to introduce ReSet, a series of collaborations with jewelry designers to engage in conversations around sustainability and to offer a fresh perspective on the positive impacts of natural diamonds. The initiative aims to help ‘reset’ perceptions and shine a light on the significant positive contribution that natural diamonds deliver for the people and places where they are found, by collaborating with established and up-and-coming jewelry designers who will set diamonds discovered by De Beers into a range of pieces, celebrating sustainability in the sector. The initiative’s first activation – the ReSet Collective – launches today and is a collaboration with five leading US designers who share a passion for natural diamonds and sustainable sourcing – Jad
