TAGS tenders for almost 45K carats held

Sells 100% of offered rough to 42 companies   Trans Atlantic Gem Sales (TAGS) DMCC recently held a rough diamond tender in Dubai from the 17th to the 23rd November 2020. In the context TAGS issued a statement.   According to the TAGS, Owing to the impact of Covid-19 and the forced closures of factories for several months, the traditional Diwali holiday was dramatically reduced, with some factories only closing for around a week. We commenced our tender on the 17th November and concluded on 23rd November 2020.  Most factories are now producing, although not at full capacity. Several months of severely restricted supply by the leading producers, coupled with a better than expected recovery in China and the Far Eastern markets has led to a reduction in polished stocks and improved liquidity in the midstream. Sells 64% of total fancy colored rough lots Also sold 247 lots of special size diamond   Alrosa in November successfully held competitive rough diamond sales in its foreign offices. Apart from two special size (over 10.8 carats) rough diamond auctions, the company held the international road show and competitive sales of fancy colored rough.   Alrosa sells large and fancy colored diamonds using competitive sales methods, such as auctions and collection of competitive bids. In November 2020 the company held auctions for diamonds larger than 10.8 carats at its offices in Israel and Dubai. Apart from these, in Israel and Belgium the company collected competitive bids for fancy colored rough. 64 percent of 130 lots weighing 8,200 carats were successfully sold. At the special size diamond auction in Israel Alrosa sold 112 lots weighing 1,850 carats for a total of $9.8 million. De Beers and Diacore partner in purchase of five extraordinary Blue diamonds from the legendary Cullinan diamond mine!   De Beers Group and Diacore are proud to partner in the purchase of five rare blue diamonds totalling 85.62 carats, with the largest a 25.75 carat diamond, for a total purchase price of $40.36 million, split equally between the companies.  The diamonds were discovered at the legendary Cullinan Diamond Mine, which, for over a century, has produced some magnificent gems and is the birthplace of the most famous diamond of all time, the Cullinan that proudly sits within the British Crown Jewels. Letlapa Tala Collection Special Tender achieves US$40.36 million   Following a competitive tender process, Petra Diamonds Limited announces that the Letlapa Tala Collection of five blue diamonds, weighing 85.6 carats in total, was sold as a suite of stones to a partnership between De Beers and Diacore for a total price of US$40.36 million, payable in cash prior to delivery of the stones. Richard Duffy, Chief Executive of Petra, commented, “The result of this special tender affirms the very high value placed on blue diamonds, which are undoubtedly one of nature’s rarest treasures. We believe this to be the first time that five rough blue diamonds of significant size, colour and clarity have been offered for sale at one time and we are delighted that the collection has been bought in its entirety.”   The Letlapa Tala Collection consists of five Type IIb blue diamonds of 25.75, 21.25, 17.57, 11.42 and 9.61 carats in size.
