iTraceiT rolls out application for tracing diamonds

GJ Exports India Rebound 54% YoY

  Totaled US$ 39.15 billion in 2021-22   Cut & Polished diamond exports grew by 48.8%, Gold Jewellery exports grew by 84.56% & Studded Gold jewellery exports grew by 93.30%   FY 2021-22 has been a bounce back year for the Indian gem & jewellery export sector. The overall gross exports of gem & jewellery from April 2021- March 2022 stood at US$ 39.15 billion (Rs. 291771.48 crores), showing a growth of 54.13% in dollar terms (55.75% in Rs, terms) as compared to US$ 25.40 billion (Rs. 187333.68 crores) in FY 2020-21.   In the month of March 2022, the overall gross exports of Gems & Jewellery stood at US$ 3393.29 million (Rs. 25872.83 crores), showing a decline of 0.46% in dollar terms (grew 4.33% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 3409.07 million (Rs. 24798.33 crores) for the same period in FY 2020-21. 570 artisans contested the theme The Collectors!   Update 1: The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) announced the winners of the 5th edition of The Artisan Awards, powered by GIA, at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai. GJS hosted 16K visitors & concludes with a successful note!   All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), the apex industry body representing the jewellery sector in India organized its first-ever mega B2B expo; India Gem & Jewellery Show, GJS 2022 which turned out to be a great success. The expo was held from 3rd to 6th April at Jio World Convention Centre – JWCC Mumbai. The four-day event was graced by Nitin Gadkari Ji, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India; Shri Raosaheb Danve Ji, Minister of State for Railways, and Singer Anup Jalota.   The event witnessed footfall of more than 16000 visitors from across India as well as foreign nations. The show had over 600 exhibitors with 1277 booths.
