Ellendale supply 50% of world’s Fancy Yellow!

Produced about 1.3 mn cts so far!

Recently Gibb River Diamonds Limited-GIB, presented its’ the Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2020. Gibb River Diamonds said in its Annual Report about Ellendale Diamond Project that, GIB operates its 100% owned Ellendale Diamond Project in the West Kimberley, WA. This project includes the advanced Blina Prospect which represents an exciting opportunity to produce high value Fancy Yellow diamonds.

The Ellendale Project has been one of the world’s foremost diamond producers with past production of approximately 1.3 million carats. This included the annual supply of over 50% of the world’s Fancy Yellow diamonds, which were the subject of a special marketing agreement between the former operator and Tiffany & Co.

The most advanced prospect at Ellendale is the Blina Alluvial Prospect, which is fully permitted, the major processing plant equipment has already been purchased and the project is ‘shovel ready’.

The project consists of a diamond bearing alluvial palaeochannel with channel widths of 200m to 500m. The largest diamond recovered to date from this channel weighed 8.43 carats, with high quality stones larger than two carats common.

A significant number of the diamonds are high value Fancy Yellows. Further information regarding grades and historical production from the Blina Project alluvials is available on the GIB website and previous ASX releases

Ellendale Diamond Project Leases Acquisition During the second quarter, GIB was invited by the Honourable Bill Johnston, WA Minister for Mines, to apply for various GIB nominated mining leases over the Ellendale Diamond Mine and Project area under the EOI process run by the State Government. These leases were applied for under the due process.

The application was successful and this acquisition delivered GIB leases over the Ellendale Diamond Project through the pegging of standard tenements and brings with it no environmental or other legacy liabilities. These leases cover the most prospective ground at Ellendale, including the two previous hard rock mines at E4 and E9 and all of the previous extensive alluvial mines, workings and prospects. GIB is working towards the grant of the key tenements is as swiftly as possible.
