Parentesi cuff icon of high jewelry

Bulgari Designed with circular-cut diamonds

During the 1980s, the Bulgari 'Parentesi' became an icon of high jewelry, gaining such popularity; it went on to become one of the most extensively copied designs of its time. The concept for 'Parentesi' took shape in 1982, when Gianni Bulgari was doodling and discussing jewelry design theory with other creative at the firm.

His idea of turning a simple graphic pattern into a modular became the foundation for 'Parentesi', which is a series of case modules that connect by interlocking.
