GJEPC debuted e-IGJS 2021 today!

 Update 1: Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State- Commerce & Industry, Government of India inaugurated the International Gem & Jewellery Show (e-IGJS) today as a Chief Guest in the presence of Guest of Honour,Suresh Kumar, Joint Secretary MoC & I, GoI, Colin Shah, Chairman-GJEPC, Vipul shah, Vice-Chairman-GJEPC, Dilip Shah, Convener-International Exhibitions, GJEPC, Sabyasachi Ray, ED-GJEPC, leading participant of e-IGJS & GJ fraternity! The show is scheduled to run through January 18 & up to January 22, 2021.

Exclusive virtual show-the e-IGJS is all about to boost exports of the Indian gems and jewellery sector catering to all product categories. A standout virtual show, e-IGJS is presented with a sharp focus on enhanced customer experience and engagement. 

In his welcome address, Colin Shah expressed the overview of Gem-n-Jewellery (GJ) Export trade today. He said GJ exports sector contributes 7% to India’s GDP and 15% to merchandise exports; the sector is employing a workforce of 5 Million across India. 

As of today, 14 out of 15 diamonds set in jewellery worldwide are processed in India. Not even one Diamond Mine, yet the world’s largest supplier of over one billion polished diamonds.

India is also the largest cutting and polishing centre for coloured gemstones in the globe. In a post Covid-19 era, India is the fastest emerging jewellery centre with the expertise to craft the finest jewellery across metals and gemstones both plain and studded in prĂŞt, couture and bridal.

Hardeep Singh Puri referred, Atamnirbharbharat and expressed his greetings to the GJ Exports that it has attained the pre-Covid-19 level. By acknowledging post Covid-19 scenario he said, ‘digital media is the way to preform! While global market is not picking up, GJEPC is attempting well by organising e-IGJS to create a demand!’

 

At the occasion, Vipul Shah provided all those details of participant & show, Dilip Shah expressed vote of thanks and Sabyasachi Ray compared the whole of the inaugural event virtually!
