This
January, Christie’s will present The Collection of Mr. and Mrs John H Gutfreund
in a hybrid auction series, highlighting the decorative arts and furniture that
graced their carefully designed New York apartment on 5th Avenue.
The live sale on 26–27 January at Christie’s New York will feature fine English and French furniture, porcelain and objects d’art while the three online sales from 14–28/29 January will be thematically organized into the art of entertainment; books and bindings; and a collection of runway jewels from the House of Chanel that were given to Mrs Gutfreund by her friend and renowned designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Discover
Russian cigar boxes from Mr Gutfreund’s fumoir; cherished dinner services; a
wide variety of French bindings and literature; and the striking, storied
jewels of Mrs Gutfreund that reflect her cultured taste and trained eye.
Focussing
here is Chanel Faux Pearl Earrings! Each centering on a button shaped faux
pearl surrounded by drop shaped faux pearls, mounted in gilt metal Dimensions:
