U-Boat presents two special edition watches

Celebrates Florence and Rome 

An original project by Italo Fontana, the U-Boat visionary designer, which celebrates with two special edition watches the finest Tuscany craftsmanship, the Italian beauty and its symbolic monuments, to be worn every day on the wrist. 

Two creations, pride of goldsmith mastery in 925 aged silver which recall Florence, the Capital of the Renaissance and Rome, the Capital of Italy, through a fine chiselling work that fills the sides of the two cases with harmonious bas-reliefs representing the main monuments of the two cities. Developed on the U-Boat Classic model, the two watches bring back the brand from Lucca to the sartorial trend that made it famous thanks to creations such as the “Opere Uniche” and the Unicvm watch.

The choice of these two cities is not accidental and coincides on one hand with the opening of the second flagship store in via Strozzi in Florence, which goes alongside the Ponte Vecchio store, and on the other celebrates the now consolidated presence of the Capitoline shop in via del Babuino. 

In the Florentine version, the two symbolic monuments are finely reproduced, Pontevecchio which extends in length over the entire right side of the case and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore located between the loop of the clock and the distinctive patented crown cover. 

In the Rome version, instead, the Colosseum has been chiselled, which entirely embraces the left side of the case while on the right side the faćade of St. Peter's Basilica. Both creations boast a silver hand-chiselled bezel, combined with a sapphire crystal with antireflective treatment, cover a metal dial made up of two layers, of which the top is opaque black with laser-cut indexes and numbers and with painted and brushed metal spheres. 

Inside the 45 mm case, a mechanical movement with customizations to U-Boat specifications is sealed through a closed screw back, also personalized with Michelangelo's David in the Florentine version and with the Capitoline Wolf in the Roman one. 

The watches are completed by a laser cut strap in aged leather handmade in Tuscany by expert craftsmen and by a 925 silver buckle also handmade. These two special editions will be available only in the flagship boutiques of the two cities and on request on the official website. New celebratory versions of other cities can also be designed and created on demand.
