IIJS Tritiya 2022 Postponed!

Voluntarily GJEPC announces deferment!

Recently, GJEPC announce their decision to voluntarily postpone IIJS Tritiya 2022, the third IIJS, to March, 2023. GJEPC said, being a responsible body and responding to the pleas from some members and trade associations in India, and in the interest of the Indian jewellery industry, they have taken the decision!

In the context, Colin Shah Chairman-GJEPC said, I express my wholehearted gratitude to the members of the gems & jewellery industry for making IIJS Signature, 2022, which was held at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO from 18-21 February 2022, the first mega jewellery show of the year 2022, a grand success. It was a welcome relief after a very difficult one and a half months due to the outbreak of Omicron strain of Covid as were had to postpone the show which was scheduled to be held on 6th of January, 2022.

We are happy to share that in response to the expression of interest floated for IIJS Tritiya 2022, the third variant of IIJS, scheduled to be held at Bengaluru from 24th to 27th March, 2022, we had received an overwhelming support in form of applications from 442 exhibitor members for 960 stalls.

However, we have also noted that the onset of the 3rd wave of Covid and the rescheduling of different jewellery shows in India has resulted in the show calendar in India becoming very busy for the month of March-April, 2022.                                                                                                                                    Due to that in recent times we have got concerned calls from industry members expressing that they may get less time to refurbish their stocks for such shows and some organizations and associations have also approached us requesting us to reschedule the show.

The National Exhibition Committee members met on the penultimate day of IIJS Signature and all the members were unanimously in favor of going ahead and holding the show on schedule as declared, but it was also noted that multiple B2B shows at the same time will force the exhibitors to participate in multiple shows in a very short span of time draining out valuable resources of the industry in very uncertain times especially in light of what has happened in the last few days for which the Indian gem & jewellery industry will be the sole loser.

Based on the same it has been decided that the deposit given by interested exhibitor members as EOI for IIJS Tritiya will be refunded immediately.
