HK Exports Blood Donation Drive

The CSR collects 447 units of blood

The leading name in the Gems and Jewelry industry, Hari Krishna (HK) Group, following their tradition, has organized a blood donation drive on the occasion of HK's 9th anniversary at The Capital Building in BKC. It was an open-for-all event for people to participate in a noble cause and motivate others by understanding and spreading the importance of each blood drop.

“A total of 12155 units of blood have been collected till date” from all the Blood Donation drives hosted by HK Group. The company organizes such events 3 times a year at their Surat and Mumbai offices, where people actively participate in giving their contribution.

This time, the event was honored by Bankers from SBI and Union Bank of India as the chief guests and other dignitaries from the diamond industry. The group has also unveiled HK’s Quarterly Newsletter as they commenced the blood donation drive.

This drive aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation in saving lives, not only in medical emergencies but also in the treatment of people who are suffering from severe life-threatening diseases that necessitate a timely and safe blood transfusion.

As a result, people become more motivated to do it on a regular basis.

Ghanshyam Dholakia, Founder & Managing Director, HK Exports Pvt Ltd, addressed the blood donors present at the event with an important message, “Blood donation is one of the greatest acts of society. Providing people with the blood units in challenging times thus becomes our responsibility.

By organizing such blood donation camps, we try to make our effort in filling the need gaps while also making people aware of the value their blood has in saving a patient's life.”

The country's blood donation rate is only 1% of the population, and the pandemic has only exacerbated the problem. People undergoing major surgeries and those with thalassemia and severe anemia, road traffic accidents need to have timely access to safe blood, which is especially important in these difficult times. So it is our moral duty to donate blood on a regular basis.

He further added, “HK Group has been organizing campaigns and marathons to spread awareness about many of such societal concerns like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, water conservation by building lakes and tree plantations”.

Savji Dholakia's humanitarian work inspires us to continue to do so. As a result, the Indian government has bestowed the honorary title of 'Padma Shri' on him. We are extremely proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who assisted in making this dream a reality.

The blood donation drive was concluded by giving hot-cold water bottles as a token of gratitude and as a gift, along with the certificates and donor cards to all the blood donors present.
