Maharashtra eye on US$ 1 trillion economy stature
The
World Economic Forum kicks off in Davos, Industry Minister Subhash Desai,
Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray and Energy Minister Nitin Raut are
present for the conference. On the first day, Maharashtra Dal was inaugurated
in the presence of dignitaries. On the first day, investment agreements were
signed with various companies. This conference will give impetus to the
economic development of the state, believes Industry Minister Desai expressed.
On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashish Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Baldev Singh, Managing Director of MSEDCL Vijay Singhal, Chief Executive Officer of MIDC Dr Unbalgan, Malikner was also present.
Maharashtra is leading the way in building the country's US$ 5 trillion economy and the state aims to build a US$ 1 trillion economy.
Political leaders, policymakers, businessmen and experts from around the world have gathered in Davos, Switzerland for the annual conference of the World Economic Forum.
The delegation visited India Pavilion. Among the major investors who visited the state pavilion, the Maharashtra delegation held discussions with representatives of Japan's eco-friendly Santori Company, a leader in the field of packaging. UPL, a multinational company in the chemical sector, has opted to invest in 250 acres of land in Raigad district and discussed the issue.
Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray signed a memorandum of understanding with the Global Plastics Action Partnership. Maharashtra is the first state in the country to ban single use plastics in 2018.
