BDB Marks 78 years of Independence Day
Distinguished International Guests remained attended!

Diamond Bourse (BDB), the world’s largest diamond trading bourse, celebrated
Independence Day with an event that highlighted both national pride and
international camaraderie. The occasion was honored by the presence of
distinguished guests, including Consulate General of Israel, Kobbi Shoshani,
and Consulate General of Belgium, Frank Geerkens.
The event was opened with a heartfelt welcome from the President of Bharat Diamond Bourse, Anoop Mehta “Independence Day represents a milestone in our nation’s history, and it is a privilege to share this special day with our esteemed international friends.
The presence of Israel Consul General Kobbi Shoshani and Belgium Consul General Frank Geerkens underscores the strong and enduring bonds we share,” Anoop Mehta stated.
The Vice President of BDB, Mehul Shah, acknowledging the sentiments said “We value the partnerships with Israel and Belgium, in 78 years of Independence Diamond & jewellery industry has seen vertical growth.
Our strong relations with
Belgium & Israel has played an important role. BDB got the inspiration from
Israel Diamond Exchange. Many of our diamond companies have families in Antwerp
and we look forward to further strengthening these ties,” Mehul Shah added.
Consul
General of Israel, Kobbi Shoshani, expressed his appreciation for the warm
reception. “Being part of Bharat Diamond Bourse’s Independence Day celebration
is both an honor and a pleasure. It highlights the shared values and mutual
respect that underpin our international relationship,” Shoshani remarked.
Consul General of Belgium, Frank Geerkens, also conveyed his gratitude.
“The opportunity to join Bharat Diamond Bourse in celebrating Independence Day is a meaningful one. Our collaboration and friendship with India are pivotal, and events like these strengthen our commitment to mutual growth and cooperation,” Geerkens said.
The celebration included a parade by BDB’s Security and Fire Safety Team, inspected by the Consul Generals of Israel and Belgium alongside the BDB President.
A
performance by a brass band was particularly well-received. These activities
underscored the spirit of independence and reinforced the strong ties between
BDB and its international partners.
