GJEPC rename the IIJS Premier as IIJS Bharat

 

IIJS Bharat that carries the nation’s ethos & ethnic values! 

Update 2: During the inaugural day at the IIJS at BEC, Kirit Bhansali, Chairman- GJEPC professed that the GJEPC has seen the green signal from the Union Government. Amidst the vibrant opening, the industry witnessed a pivotal moment as Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), announced that the show is poised for a historic renaming; IIJS Bharat.  

He elaborated, “The idea behind renaming IIJS as, IIJS Bharat; is to reflect our national pride and identity. Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, India is emerging as a global force, and our gem and jewellery sector is a true mirror of that transformation.”  

And hence, now the IIJS Premier has been renamed as IIJS Bharat. Officially at the press address at BEC, Kirit Bhansali announced the rename; IIJS Bharat. Earlier, Kirit Bhansali had announced at the Jewellers For Hope. In his welcome speech he had announced the adopted the coined rename, IIJS Bharat! At the GJ Town India front, we had started reporting India’s export fact-n-figures as, Bharat’s export fact-n-figures. 

IIJS Bharat that carries the nation’s ethos & ethnic values and therefore IIJS Bharat is the strategic rebranding & a statement of India’s growing influence and authenticity in the global jewellery landscape. The new identity aims to combine the legacy of India’s centuries-old craftsmanship with the strength of its modern manufacturing capabilities, positioning Indian jewellery more powerfully on the world stage.  

“This change is an important step in realigning the show’s identity with Bharat’s timeless values and rising international presence,” Kirit Bhansali stated. “It symbolizes a deeper connection with our roots while embracing the future.”  

Highlighting India’s rapid economic growth, Kirit Bhansali emphasized the importance of aligning trade events like IIJS with the country’s global aspirations. “India is not just one of the fastest-growing economies anymore; we are on the cusp of becoming one of the world’s largest. Our platforms must reflect this stature and serve as ambassadors of our evolving economic and cultural influence.”  

The announcement of IIJS Bharat sets the tone for a renewed, proudly Indian identity- one that embraces heritage, innovation, and global ambition in equal measure. The India International Jewellery Show will now be known as India International Jewellery Show Bharat (IIJS Bharat). A name that resonates with Viksit Bharat; and champions the cause of Make In India will now constitute an integral part of the branding for all three flagship shows - IIJS Premiere, IIJS Signature and IIJS Tritiya.
