ICA Announces elected Board of Directors for 2025

 

The ICA would not have continued to thrive over the testing times 

The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) is pleased to announce the 2025 Board of Directors, led by President, Damien Cody, and was installed at the Board of Directors meeting at the ICA Congress, held in Brasilia, Brazil. “A genuine welcome to our incoming Board members” says Cody, “and a most sincere thank you to those Directors who have contributed so much to our success over the last several years and are now stepping down.”  

Joining Cody are new Directors; Lucas Amelung- USA; Ashoo Sinchawla- Thailand; Himas Isab- Sri Lanka; Katherine Kovacs- Australia; Manuela Soares-Brazil; Arun Jain-India; Captain Ramji Sharma-Japan; Saurabh Bansal- Germany & Dacques Nini – USA.  

Newly elected ICA Directors serve an initial two-year term and are eligible for re-election to an additional four-year term. Coming off the Board of Directors after many years of dedicated service are; Altaf Iqbal- Sri Lanka, Daniel Bronfen- Brazil, Duncan Mclauchlan- UK, Dwarka Prasad-India, Evan Caplan- USA, Sushil Goyal- USA, Mark Tremonti- Australia, Pearl Ng- UK, Phuket Khunaprapakorn- Thailand & Rocco Gay- Italy.

Returning Board members are; Clement Sabbagh- Brazil, Damien Cody- Australia, Guillermo Galvis- Colombia

Ioannis Alexandris- Germany, Miriam Mimo Kamau Caplan- Kenya, Armil Sammoon- Sri Lanka, Ashish Vijay-   UAE, Benedicte Lavoie- Canada, Claudia Hamann- Germany, Kengo Kajita- Japan, Lucas Senrong Lu- China, Oren Eliezri- Israel, Samir Sukhadia- Thailand, Vijay Kedia- India.  

The new officers of the Board are Vice President Ioannis Alexandris, Germany; Vice President Captain Ramji Sharma, Japan; Secretary Benedict Lavoie, Canada; Secretary Lucas Amelung, USA; Treasurer Armil Samoon, Sri Lanka.  They are joined on the Executive Committee by Clement Sabbagh, Past President and Doug Hucker, CEO.  

“ICA Board of Directors elections are held every two years, and we are immensely proud of, and grateful to the slate of Directors who are coming off the Board this year.  Being a director entails a significant amount of commitment and effort.  Without the contribution of these departing members the ICA would not have continued to thrive through the challenging times our industry has experienced in the past few years”, says Doug Hucker, ICA CEO.  

“New elections also represent the addition of ideas, perspective, and energy that will help the Board navigate the challenges of the shifting landscape of global trade and ensure that all our members can prosper.  We heartily welcome those who have joined our Board of Directors” Doug adds.
