Christie’s Magnificent Jewels breaks four years record!

                           The highest sale total for the category in four years                                                                HK Spring Auction Achieved US$76,804,799                                            World record price at auction for                                                                                        The largest purple pink diamond   On 23 May 2021, Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction totalled HK$593,437,500 / US$76,804,799. Christie’s Rare Watches New York:  Online totals $7.8 million with 95% sold by lot Christie’s Rare Watches New York Online achieved a total of $7,826,250 with 95% sold by lot, 100% sold by value, and 139% hammer above low estimate. There was global participation with bidders from 41 countries and over 27% new registrants.   Leading the sale was a superb Cartier Mystery clock known as “Model A” that sold for $562,500. Manufactured in 1919, the timepiece is an exceptionally rare and early example of the first type of mystery clock created by Louis Cartier and master clock maker  Maurice Coüet (1885-1963).   There were very strong results for Patek Philippe with an 18K yellow gold perpetual calendar chronograph ref. 2499/100 selling for $475,000; the exceptional 18K white gold reference 3448 achieving $350,000; and a platinum Nautilus reference 3800/3P selling for $150,000 against its low estimate of $14,000.   Rémi Guillemin, Christie’s Watches Specialist, remarks, “We are extremel

Auction totals $1.49 million!   Results announced at Christie’s curated online sale Jewels Online: Summer Sparkle totaled $ $1,492,625 with 84% sold by lot. Additionally, the sale attracted 28% new registrants from over 20 countries. This was Christie’s first online-only auction dedicated to the world’s most sought-after gemstone the diamond.  The top lot of the sale was a spectacular jewel by Graff, suspending a 20.21 carat pear shaped yellow-brown diamond, set in a fine white diamond necklace, which sold for $325,000.   Other highlights included old mine brilliant-cut diamond ring of 12.02 carats, which realized $118,750; diamond ring of 4.80 carats that sold for $87,500; and a fancy yellow diamond ring of 8.16 carats, which achieved $81,250.
