CIBJO Congress 2023 held in Jaipur

Organised from 3rd to 5th October Gem & Jewellery industry pledges to enhance Trust, Transparency, Sustainability, Traceability & Responsible Sourcing thru’ self-regulation The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) held its annual Congress for the first time in Jaipur at Fairmont, Jaipur. The Congress is being organised from 3rd to 5th October. Pre-Congress meetings were held on 1st and 2nd October. The 2023 Congress is being hosted by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and the National Gem & Jewellery Council of India (NGJCI) supported by Ministry of Commerce and Industry and MSME Ministry, Govt. of India. Collaboration on the end-to-end blockchain traceability platform for the diamond industry Tracr, the end-to-end diamond industry blockchain traceability platform being developed by De Beers Group in collaboration with industry stakeholders, is pleased to announce that Alrosa has joined the platform’s pilot programme. Alrosa will join industry leaders from the diamond manufacturing and retail sectors in creating the blockchain platform by the industry, for the industry.   Following the announcement of the Tracr pilot earlier this year, Alrosa’s involvement brings the world’s two largest diamond producers together to provide enhanced assurance for consumers and trade participants about the provenance and authenticity of their diamonds, and in creating a digital foundation for new services that can only be developed on an end-to-end platform.
