  Polishing Our Future, concludes with a huge success!   Bharat Diamond Bourse, World’s largest Diamond Exchange conceptualized and organized an important seminar to address Industry members, titled, “Polishing Our Future” on 11th October 2024 at BDB Convention Hall, Mumbai.   Inviting world renowned speakers like Paul Zimnisky, Diamond analyst and expert, Tawhid Abdullah, CEO Jawhara Jewellery Group, Amit Pratihari, Managing Director, India, De Beers, Ananthanarayanan Hariharan, Head Retail and Merchandising, Novel Jewels, Aditya Birla Management Corporation Pvt Ltd, David Bouffard, CEO David Bouffard Consulting LLP, and Devdutt Patnaik, Mythologist and Author.    Bharat Diamond Bourse set the stage for the Diamond Industry members to not only prepare for a sustainable future but also helped participants foresee economic realities and its impact on consumer markets such as US, China, India, and Middle Eastern markets.   The presentations were over two sessions moderated by Nirupa Bhat

The International Gemological Institute- IGI, showcased its latest services and technological prowess at the India International Jewelry Show Signature 2022 held from February 18 to 21st    in Mumbai last week. IGI adds post-growth treatment to certification process Incorporates further transparency to LGD reports   The International Gemological Institute (IGI), the pioneer of lab-grown diamond certification since 2005, announces that new details highlighting the manufacturing process of lab-grown diamonds are added to Institute reports, effective January 2021.   While previous reports always indicated that lab-grown diamonds “may include post-growth treatments to alter color,” the Institute conducted in-depth research and data collection using the most up-to-date technology to confidently state if the diamond was “as grown” or may have been treated.  “The popularity of lab-grown diamonds has heightened since IGI debuted the industry’s first reporting of the man-made gemstones 16 years ago,” said IGI CEO Roland Lorie.  “As the technology advances and demand evolves, the Institute will continue to do right by the consumer and provide the highest quality of certification and customer se

Arunkumar Mehta shares insights at IIG The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) recently hosted a seminar by Mr Arunkumar Mehta, founder of Rosy Blue, one of the world’s leading diamantaires with a presence in 12 countries globally. Over the course of the talk, Mr Mehta shared valuable insights into the diamond industry in India. He explored the history of the industry, noting that when he started his company in 1960, at the age of 20, the industry in India was at its nascent stage. Today, there is great potential for the industry with India now being the largest diamond cutting and polishing centre in the world. Mr Mehta also offered his views on the manufacture of synthetic CVC diamonds, the future of De Beers, and the scope for online diamond trading.
