  Brings more rough diamond carats in the April to cater the season ahead    According to the available provisional statistics of India for the month of April 2025, the overall gross exports of Gems & Jewellery at US$ 2037.06 million (Rs. 17428.480 crores) in the month of April 2025 is showing a decline of 4.62% (-2.17% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 2135.7 million (Rs. 17814.87 crores) for the same period previous year.    The overall India’s gross imports of Gems & Jewellery at US$ 1569.13 million (Rs. 13419.63 crores) in month of April 2025 is showing a decline of 17.61% (-15.5% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 1904.4 million (Rs. 15880.47 crores) for the same period previous year.    At the Rough Diamonds front, Gross Imports of rough diamonds at US$ 1200.06 million (Rs 10265.19 crores) in April 2025 - April 2025 have shown a growth of 0.56% (3.17% Rs. term) compared with the imports at US$ 1193.32 million (Rs. 9949.57 crores) f...

  Import of fewer rough diamonds for April 2024 to December 2024   Inflation, global uncertainties & other electronics and digital options have collected a toll collectively. Improvement is expected in the 2025! India is the largest global center for diamond manufacturing and therefore, India keeps a keen watch on the global diamond demand & trends and accordingly India import of fewer rough diamonds in 9months for the period of April 2024 to December 2024.     According to the gross imports of rough diamonds that recorded in the value term, at US$ 7882.58 million (Rs 66066.49 crores) for the period of April 2024 to December 2024 (9months) have shown a decline of 22.1% (-20.98% Rs. term) compared with the imports at US$ 10118.93 million (Rs. 83603.48 crores) for previous year. Rough diamond exports fell 20.97% & lower Import of 11.95%   According to India’s available Exim (Export-Import) figures for the November 2024 & April 2024 to November 2024; it is being studied that India’s government & GJEPC both are in the sync to attain the short term & long term export target.
