Experienced positive & transformative power of yoga   Hari Krishna Exports, a renowned name in the diamond and jewelry industry, once again celebrated International Yoga Day with immense enthusiasm and wide participation across its Surat and Mumbai offices, and its different offices worldwide. This year, nearly 4,000 HK employees rolled out their yoga mats to join in the global celebration of this ancient Indian practice.   The Surat office had around 2,000 employees who gratefully participated, while the Mumbai office had a turnout of approximately 1,600 employees and a few more hundred from other HK Group offices. The event garnered overwhelming participation from members of Bharat Diamond Bourse, MDMA (Mumbai Diamond Merchants Association), and GJEPC (Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council), underscoring their commitment to community welfare.   The Blood Donation drive was inaugurated by Dnyaneshwar Patil, IAS, Zonal Development Commissioner, SEEPZ- SEZ & CPS Chauhan, IRS, Joint Development Commissioner, SEEPZ- SEZ. Vipul Shah attends Hon'ble FM's Consultation Meeting!   GJEPC Chairman Vipul Shah presented key recommendations for the gem & jewellery trade at the pre-budget meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.    Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, said, “The Indian gems and jewellery industry contributes around 10% to India’s total merchandise exports. However, the industry is currently facing some challenges due to the geopolitical scenario, the emergence of the beneficiation scheme, and issues related to rough diamond sourcing.   Against the backdrop of the macroeconomic scenario, I urge the government to take measures to revive exports in this sector. I request the Hon’ble Finance Minister to introduce a Safe Harbour rule in SNZs, introduce the Diamond Imprest License, and reduce the import duty on gold, silver, and platinum bars to 4%; and introduce duty drawback on exports of platinum Jewellery to take advantage of India UAE CEPA. De Beers rough diamond sales Cycle 5 remained faint

Expect a protracted U-shaped recovery in diamond demand   De Beers Group announced the value of rough diamond sales for the fifth sales cycle of 2024. The provisional rough diamond sales figure quoted for Cycle 5 represents the expected sales value for the period and remains subject to adjustment based on final completed sales.   De Beers Group CEO Al Cook said: “The northern summer is generally a quieter period for rough diamond sales, and this was reflected in our cycle 5 sales.
