Dragon with 117 Argyle pink diamonds

Colombian emerald, as its eye

10 Oz Gold Proof Coin
to release only 9 worldwide!

The Jewelled Dragon is a spectacular work of art fusing two of Australia’s natural wonders, gold and pink diamonds, in an exquisite collaboration from The Perth Mint and Argyle Pink Diamonds.

With meticulous attention to detail, 18 carat rose gold has been handcrafted into a stunning three-dimensional representation of the powerful Chinese dragon. Rich in ancient symbolism, the legendary horned creature is pavĂ©-set with 117 exquisite Argyle pink diamonds with an additional emerald from Colombia’s legendary Muzo Mines, as its eye.

The dragon is chasing a flaming pearl, a symbol of enlightenment and spiritual energy, in its eternal quest for wisdom, power and immortality. The propitious creature celebrates harmony by ascending into the sky to fly amongst the clouds.

Honouring traditional Chinese depictions of the revered creature, 81 of the dragon’s 117 scales harness ‘yang’ and 36 ‘yin’ with the three individual numbers adding up to the auspicious number nine.

With the same pronunciation in Mandarin as the word for ‘everlasting’, the number nine additionally has an ancient association with dragons and nobility. Exceptionally rare, only nine of these coveted collectables will ever be released worldwide.

Mintage of the 10 Oz Gold Proof Coin would be extremely limited. The Jewelled Dragon 2019 Proof Coin has a maximum mintage of only nine. Luxurious Presentation Packaging and Numbered Certificate, each of these splendid coins is in a black display case resembling a classic Chinese cabinet, which opens to reveal the coin behind a Perspex screen. Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. This case is presented in a protective other carry case.
