Forevermark, the diamond brand from De Beers Group hosts an evening in honour of female achievers across a variety of disciplines at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai.

The evening commenced with a panel discussion titled ‘Breaking the Norms’ featuring prominent women achievers who are a real inspiration to countless others across the country including, D. Roopa – Karnataka’s first female Police Service official, currently the Inspector-General of police, the second highest-ranked officer in Bangalore and Karnataka; Guneet Monga – Academy Award winning Indian film producer, voted as one of the top 12 women achievers in the Global Entertainment industry by The Hollywood Reporter; Ankita Raina – India’s No.1ranked women's singles tennis player; Dr Chitra Rajagopal, DG, DRDO, an eminent scientist and leading lady in the defence sector; and Lt Crd Pooja Sharma who has been a naval officer for the last seven years and was part of the first all women armed forces contingent at Rajpath for Republic Day 2015.

Each female achiever shared her inspiring journey and challenges she faced.

The event also saw a showcase of exquisite jewellery from the Forevermark Tribute Collection, which was launched earlier this year to celebrate the richness of inherent brilliance, as well as the Red Carpet 2019 collection.

The evening culminated in a fashion showcase by renowned designer Samant Chauhan, with models wearing a selection of 48 jewellery pieces designed by 27 Forevermark authorised jewellers, as part of the Red Carpet 2019 collection. Audiences admired the assortment of cocktail rings, bracelets, palm gloves, necklaces, and chokers; all expertly crafted with rare, beautiful and ethically sourced Forevermark diamonds. An ardent supporter of female empowerment, Bollywood icon and actor Karisma Kapoor concluded the show wearing a show stopping piece from the collection.

Speaking on the occasion, Forevermark India President Sachin Jain, says, “We are proud to celebrate the launch of our exclusive Tribute and Red Carpet 2019 collections – both signifying key values that Forevermark stands for – timelessness, beauty, and rarity, whilst being ethical and committed to world-changing initiatives. Every year, our Indian retail partners push their creativity, presenting designs that showcase our home grown talent on a global platform, with fine craftsmanship that is beyond measure.”

Championing female talent is embedded in the DNA of the Forevermark brand. With our diamonds worn predominantly by women, we recognise the very significant contribution of women to building the future of the communities where we operate.

Stephen Lussier, CEO of Forevermark, Executive Vice President of Marketing of De Beers Group and a member of The Group Executive Committee and Paul Rowley, Executive Vice President, Diamond Trading, De Beers Group reiterated Forevermark’s commitment to working with De Beers Group as part of their partnership with UN Women to promote gender equality across its business, its marketing campaigns and its communities.
In 2018 De Beers Group launched the AWOME (Accelerating Women Owned Micro-Enterprises) programme, in partnership with UN Women, which aims to support over 1,250 women micro-entrepreneurs across South Africa, Botswana and Namibia by 2020.

Additionally, De Beers Group’s university scholarship programme, also run in partnership with UN Women over three years (2017-2020), aims to sponsor the equivalent of 67 years of university studies for women in STEM subjects in Canada. It is one of the many reasons why everyone can be proud to wear and own a beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced Forevermark diamond.

Forevermark diamonds are the world’s most carefully selected diamonds. Each Forevermark diamond undergoes a journey of rigorous selection and bears a unique inscription at its heart, which is an assurance that every Forevermark diamond is beautiful, rare and ethically sourced. Less than 1% of the world’s diamonds are eligible to be inscribed as Forevermark which is a promise that the diamond has been carefully selected to meet Forevermark’s standards of quality and integrity.
