Jewellery Market Bureau: Lucapa Diamond and its partners Empresa Nacional de Diamantes E.P. and Rosas & Petalas announce the recovery of the 24th +100 carat diamond by Sociedade Mineira Do Lulo from the Lulo alluvial diamond mine in Angola.

The 138 carat diamond was recovered from Mining Block 46 (MB46), is the seventh +100 carat diamond recovered in 2021 so far and 24th +100 carat stone recovered at Lulo since exploration and mining operations began.

The Lulo mine has been mining commercially since 2015 and has produced over twenty +100 carat diamonds to date, including a 404 carat D-colour Type IIa stone, and is one of the highest average US$ per carat alluvial diamond producers in the world. Lucapa and its Project Lulo JV partners have also achieved highly encouraging results from their search to discover the primary hard-rock source of the high-value Lulo alluvial diamonds.

Lucapa is a niche diamond producer with high-value mines in Angola (Lulo) and Lesotho (Mothae).
