WorldSkills Lyon 2024 opened up for Skills!

From 10 to 15 September, 1,400 young people from across the world will step onto the global stage to showcase the skills that will shape our future. Here’s everything you need to know to be part of this exciting event. 

Celebrate with us at the Ceremonies: Unfortunately tickets for the Opening Ceremony on 10 September are sold out. But there is still time to join an international audience, cheering on our Champions at the spectacular Closing Ceremony.  

Bringing the 47th WorldSkills Competition to its breathtaking finale, the Closing Ceremony will take place on 15 September at 18:30 CEST at the world-famous Groupama Stadium. India at WorldSkills Lyon: In the right time, “as the 47th edition of the biannual WorldSkills 2024 is at the inaugural, the 60-member young contingent of WorldSkills India Team landed in Lyon, France, all charged up and ready to compete in the largest international skilling competition, ” said India.  

Skilled India’s individuals will compete across 52 skill categories for India against the best from over 70 countries. The international competition is set to commence from September 10-15, 2024, at Euroexpo Lyon France, which will witness over 1,400 competitors and 1,300 experts. This grand event, often considered the Olympic Games of skilling, is expected to attract over 2.5 lakh participants.  

Get involved in WorldSkills Conference 2024: WorldSkills Conference 2024 runs in alignment with WorldSkills Lyon 2024 and will take place for two days from 11 to 12 September. It brings together experts, thought leaders, and policymakers to discuss the future of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This year’s theme, “Moving TVET to the top of the global agenda”, explores how equipping young people with skills is essential to tackling the major challenges we face in an uncertain and rapidly changing world.  

While registration has closed, key sessions from WorldSkills Conference 2024 will be live streamed each day on the website. For those already attending, the Conference Whova app has all the information delegates need to know to make the most of the day, including creating their own agenda and accessing speaker biographies.
