An intensive training of trainer program by GJSCI

 

A total of 12 Trainers joined in this Program held in Mumbai  

Skilling being at the core of our activities, a Special Program was curated by GJSCI to Train the Trainer. It was a 3 day long Training Program which commenced on 31st July up to 2nd August, 2025.  Imitation Jewellery Maker & Artificial Jewellery Maker job roles were shortlisted for this program.  

A total of 12 Trainers participated in this intensive Training Program held in Mumbai. Trainers hailed from the State of Odisha, Thane & Kolhapur districts of Maharashtra. The major focus of this Training Program was, imparting practical training and preparing the Trainers with the requisite skillsets.

A live demonstration was apparently a part of this program, whereby the Participants created some well-crafted pieces of traditional jewellery during their practical learning. The acquired skillset in turn would be imparted by these Trainers to the candidates being training under the various skill programs conducted by GJSCI.   

GJSCI endeavours to identify skill development needs in the Gem and Jewellery sector in India. Accordingly, GJSCI has to study reports for the Gems and Jewellery Industry and to determine skills, competency standards and develop curriculum as per world industry standards by creating National Occupational Standards (NOS) for every job role prevailing in the Gem & Jewellery industry.  

GJSCI developed 86 validated QP / NOS covering 7 sub-sectors. Initiate Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) across India to Recognize the Prior Learning of artisans and provide them with suitable opportunities. Overall 22,500+ artisans have been certified across India under RPL. Further training & related activities are on!  

GJSCI wants to put on record an appreciation for Master Trainer Sangeeta Arun Patil for delivering a high impact engaging Training Program for the Trainers.

India kept Check & balances on Gem & Jewellery Import

  Global scenarios have impacted India’s GJ exports 2024-2025   India’s overall gross exports of Gem & Jewellery (GJ) remained at US$ 2582.97 million (Rs. 22340.89 crores) in the month of March 2025 is showing a growth of 1.02% (5.24% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 2556.97 million (Rs. 21228.71 crores) for the same period previous year.   The overall gross imports of Gems & Jewellery in India registered at US$ 1939.30 million (Rs. 16783.49 crores) in month of March 2025 is showing a decline of 7.20% (-3.26% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 2089.76 million (Rs. 17349.51 crores) for the same period previous year.
