Sotheby’s hammered fancy vivid blue, VS2 Clarity     A Magnificent and Important Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond and Diamond Ring, Set with a radiant-cut fancy vivid blue diamond weighing 11.28 carats, embellished with brilliant-cut diamonds and diamonds of pink tint, mounted in 18 karat white and pink gold.   Accompanied by GIA report no. 5221971812, dated 14 June 2023, stating that the diamond is Fancy Vivid Blue, Natural Colour, VS2 Clarity; also accompanied by a diamond type classification report stating that the diamond is determined to be a Type IIb diamond.

Gattle Diamond Bracelet of 4.79 carats, I color, VVS2 clarity!     Sotheby’s offers Important Jewels on 22 October 2020, New York with accompanied by GIA report no. 2191816449 dated November 5, 2018 stating that the diamond weighing 4.79 carats is I color, VVS2 clarity. Jewel of geometric design, centering an emerald-cut diamond, set with numerous old European-cut, half-moon-shaped and baguette diamonds, decorated with calibré-cut emeralds, length 7½ inches, signed Gattle; circa 1935. For almost fifty years, E. M. Gattle & Co. created beautiful diamond jewelry that rivalled the best American houses in the first decades of the 20th century including Tiffany & Co., Marcus & Co., Theodore B. Starr, Dreicer & Co. and Raymond C. A record for any sale of royal jewels at Sotheby’s, Eclipsing the long-held benchmark of $50.3m established Geneva, one of the most important historic collections of royal jewels made auction history. One hundred treasures from the collection of the Bourbon Parma family together realised CHF 53.5m ($53.1m), more than seven times the pre-sale high estimate of CHF 7m ($7m) and a record for any sale of royal jewels, eclipsing the long-held benchmark of $50.3m established by the sale of jewels of the Duchess of Windsor established in 1987. Art Déco jewels offer at Sotheby’s Sotheby’s announces a new sale dedicated to Jewellery and Watches in Paris this autumn. This new date in the auction calendar, entitled Joaillerie Paris, will coincide with a double-anniversary this year for Sotheby’s in France: the auction house’s 50 years on French soil, and 20 years in the historic Galerie Charpentier. To mark the occasion, we will present Jewels and Watches from the late 19th and 20th century, alongside a small selection of contemporary creations, thus combining the emblematic with the original. Among the designs on offer will be pieces by France’s most illustrious jewellery houses such as Boucheron, Boivin, Cartier, M. Gérard, Sterlé, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chaumet, including jewels set with important diamonds, Kashmir sapphires and Burmese rubies.
