Vicenzaoro
January 2019 opens
with
the theme, Sustainable
creativity!
The
opening of Vicenzaoro January 2019, the International Jewellery Show, organized
by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), in the presence of the Minister for Regional
Affairs and Autonomies, Erika Stefani announced.
In
her speech, Minister Stefani declared: “Vicenzaoro brings with it all the
territory’s dynamics and ability to promote development and training within the
sector.”
In
his greetings, IEG President, Lorenzo Cagnoni, referred to Italian Exhibition
Group’s role as the leading Italian trade show player in terms of the number of
shows organized directly and of its own property and announced that this
edition of the event, which hosts the most famous international brands
alongside the more recent and emerging companies, is totally sold out.
Next
was Managing Director, Ugo Ravanelli, who proclaimed the theme of this year’s
show: Sustainable Creativity, which is no longer a trend but, fortunately for
our planet, the direction in which the whole sector is decidedly steering
towards. “At Vicenzaoro, we will be dealing with the theme in all its aspects
and throughout the production chain, in line with the vocation of our show
which, also for this reason, is one-of-a-kind in Europe in regards to
jewellery.”
The
stage was then followed by Silvio Giovine, Vicenza’s Councillor for Productive
Activities, who spoke of an increasingly more intense synergy between IEG and
Vicenza Council aimed at the constant international development of shows within
the territory.
First
and foremost VIOFF, now at its second edition, with a full calendar of events,
outlined by the Councillor, further enriched this year with a charitable aim to
support reforestation on the Asiago Plateau where flooding at the end of
October caused heavy damage.
“Favouring
the communication of Italian jewellery identity, systematizing and
strengthening training and digital activities” are, for Ivana Ciabatti,
President of Confindustria Federorafi, the main challenges that the sector
needs to face. Digital evolution and including the younger generation in the
world of employment were the topics raised by Carlo Ferro, neo-President of
ICE.
“We
are recording a particular vitality in the use of the Internet as a sales
channel and we are directing our efforts in this direction as well as in
support for emerging start-ups within the sector that see many young and highly
capable professionals investing their skills and aspirations.” The ceremony
ended with the most heartfelt wishes for a successful show for all the
exhibitors, traders and buyers in attendance.
