15 July as World Youth Skills Day

Since 2014, when the United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day (WYSD), WorldSkills has marked the day around the globe.

For the first time, WorldSkills will be take part in the UN activities with an exhibition at the High-level Political Forum, and Amelia Addis, of the WorldSkills Champions Trust, will be speaking at the official World Youth Skills Day event, marking the first time a WorldSkills Champion has taken part in the activities.

Other speakers at the event include the President of the General Assembly, Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, and Under Secretary-General and Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Ana Maria Menéndez, among other high level officials and Ministers.

Our thanks to the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the UN, Permanent Mission of Portugal to the UN, Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, UNESCO and ILO for the invitation to participate in important event.
