The Grand Celebration of India’s 76th Republic Day at BDB

The Republic Day celebrations at BDB marked by heart-stirring performances 

The 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervor at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) on the morning of January 26, 2025. The event, which commenced at 8:45 AM, witnessed an august gathering of distinguished dignitaries, esteemed guests, and members of the diamond industry, making it a truly memorable occasion. 

The celebration was graced by Chief Guest H.E. Frank Geerkeens, Consul General of Belgium in Mumbai, in the presence of esteemed Guests of Honour; Ohori Keina – Deputy Consul General, Japan in Mumbai, John Nickell – Head of Political & Bilateral Affairs, British Deputy High Commission, Joshua Magnum – ARSO, US Consulate General Office, Maneesh Kalwaniya, IPS – DCP Zone 08, Mumbai, Yogesh Chavan – Senior Police Inspector, BKC Police Station. 

BDB Management hosted, Industry Leaders & Prominent figures from Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) and the diamond industry also participated in the 76th Republic Day of India celebration! The BDB Management included, Anoop Mehta – President, Mehul Shah – Vice-President, Suresh Shah – Secretary, Bharat Diamond Bourse, Prakash Shah – Joint Secretary, Kirit Bhansali – Member- BDB & Vice-Chairman, GJEPC, Mahesh Vaghani, Surendra Dassani, Jaswant Parikh, Bharati Mehta, Ashok Gajera, Jay Parikh, Chirag Parikh, and many other luminaries from the diamond industry.  

A Dazzling Display of Patriotism and Skill! The Republic Day celebrations at BDB were marked by a meticulously planned parade, heart-stirring performances, and a series of exhilarating demonstrations. Parade & Band Performance added charm in the celebration with a total of 110 participants from the Department of Security & Fire Safety (DSFS) practiced under the dedicated guidance of Vandana Patil, Anjali Mohite Sanjay Gupta, Subir Mishra SO Ram Gandhi, and SO Chandrakant Shah. 

The parade was complemented by a spectacular band performance, with a team of 12 musicians who rehearsed daily from December 15, 2024. The band played eight patriotic tunes, including, Kadam Kadam Badaye Ja, Johnny Mera Naam, Priyadarshini, Teri Mitti, Drum Drill, Yeh Desh Hai & Visarjan.  

The Quick Response Security Team (QRST) put forth a thrilling display of tactical drills and emergency response exercises. Led by Mahesh Kaloni (Sr. Executive), Ramesh Khodke, Amar Patil, SO Rahul Kamble, and CCTV expert Rujay Mascarenhas. 

32 QRST members executed remarkable performances, including, 1: Bike Pyramid Formation, 2: Dips & Rolls, Obstacle Jumps, 6-Feet Wall Climb, Crawling Under Barbed Wire Amid Fire Flames & Hanging & Walking on Metal Stand. Daring Rope & Fire Stunts! The audience was left in awe as security personnel performed daring stunts such as, Rope Climbing from Ground to 4th Floor, Monkey Walk Between Towers, Rappelling from 5th and 9th Floors Bike Stunts Through Fire Frames, Kolati Acts by LSSG Sakshi Bhosekar, Aikido & Self-Defense Techniques, Jumping Through Fire Circles & Tube Light Breaking & Bodybuilding Demonstration by SSG Mangesh Phalke.

In a Fire Safety Demonstration & Preparedness & Precision session, under the leadership of Sr. FO Pradip Bankar and Sr. FO Ashfaq Shaikh, the BDB Fire Team conducted a gripping fire safety drill. 

Showcasing life-saving techniques such as, 1: Rope Rescue & Chair Knot Drill, 2: Vehicle Fire Management, 3: Ladder Rescues for Terrace Fires, 4: Hut Fire & Emergency Response & 5: Tiranga Salute to honor the nation.  

In the Commendations & Conclusion session, the event commenced with an inspiring Welcome Speech by Anoop Mehta. The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour expressed their admiration for the breathtaking performances and the discipline displayed by the security and fire safety teams. Their words of appreciation deeply motivated the participants. 

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mehul Shah, Vice President of BDB, followed by a grand group photograph capturing the spirit of unity and pride. The 76th Republic Day celebrations at Bharat Diamond Bourse will be remembered as a testament to the unwavering dedication and patriotism of the diamond industry community.
