Felicitation of Shri Kirtilal K. Doshi!

Book On Gemstones & Diamond released too! Gem &Jewellery Exporters’ Association (GJEA) one of the pioneer organizations in the Gem &Jewellery Industry in India organized a glittering function to honor Shri Kirtilal K. Doshi, a founder Member and past President of GJEA, who is a living legend. The function was held at MCA, the Lounge, Wankhede Stadium, Churchgate, Mumbai. The function commenced with a music program presented by Avishkar group. The audience enjoyed popular Gujarati and Hindi songs for over an hour. Shri Seventilal P. Shah, Partner, Venus Jewel, was the Chief Guest and Arunkumar R. Mehta, Chairman, Rosy Blue (I) Pvt. Ltd. was Guest of Honor. Dr. AVR Reddy, Chief Cordinator, GII, introduced dignitaries Sri Kirtilal K. Doshi, Shri Seventilal Shah, Shri Arunkumar Mehta, Shri Arvind C. Parikh, President GJEA and Shri Navin Jasnani. Colour stones and future Directions

Seminar on present status of colour stones Gemmological Institute of India (GII), a pioneer institute for gem stone certification and education organised a half day interactive seminar on “Present status on the developments in the area of colour stones and future Directions” in Mumbai. The main objectives were to review continuous developments in this subject and interact with our valuable customers.   Participation was by invitation. About thirty major gemstone traders and fifteen GII scientific colleagues participated in this seminar. Seminar was inaugurated by Shri Bakul R Mehta, Chairman-GII and in his inaugural address; he spoke on the need for openness in the market, use of scientific methods for the identification as well as origin determination and requirement of quality data for certification. NGTC held open Forum meeting

Gem and Jewellery institutes came together under one umbrella to form AGA National Gem Testing Center (NGTC) organised a half day open Forum meeting Win-Win on 28th afternoon with CIBJO, GIT, GII, CGL, DFHK, GHK and HKIG as co-organisers. NGTC invited many experts from many institutes to talk or present views in Win-Win. For the first time, an effort is being made to bring Asia-pacific countries under one umbrella to form Asia-Pacific Gemstone and Technology Standardisation Alliance (AGA). The idea was seeded through bilateral meetings between NGTC and GII, and is progressively evolving. This meeting consists of three sessions and each session begins with a lead invited talk followed by panel discussion. The topics of lead talks in the three sessions were 1. Challenges of International Trade, 2. Uniform rules and International Jewellery Industry and 3. Prospects for International standardisation in Asia-pacific and China. K T Ramchandran passes away!

Industry would always remember his all those contributions in gemmology!” Right now gem-n-jewellery (GJ) industry & trade mourns upon K T Ramchandran passes away.
