Marange Diamond Fields
Grant of Heritage Concession

Botswana Diamonds advised that their partner in the development of the diamond potential of Zimbabwe, Vast Resources plc have advised that the Chiadzwa Community Development Trust has in principle been granted the right to mine diamonds in joint venture on the Heritage Concession at Block T1A of the Marange Diamond Fields and has appointed Vast as its joint venture partner in the exploration and mining of diamonds in the area.

In May 2018 Botswana Diamonds signed a MoU with Vast. In terms of the MoU, the two companies would be exchanging past exploration information and forming a special purpose vehicle to jointly develop the diamond potential of Zimbabwe. The initial focus of this agreement is on the Marange Diamond Fields of eastern Zimbabwe.

Vast holds exclusive access to key diamond concessions within the Marange Diamond Fields Heritage Concession through an agreement with a community organisation. The Company is aware that the Chiadzwa Community Development Trust is associated with the Marange-Zimunya Community Share Ownership Trust, the community trust had named earlier in the Company’s original announcement on the Heritage Concession.
