The Real Cut 2.0 announced!

Showcase jewellery design talent…
DPA ties up again with LFW!

Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW), India’s biggest fashion stage, in collaboration with the Diamond Producers Association (DPA), has once again announced an enthralling opportunity for the nation’s budding diamond jewellery design talent.

The second edition of ‘The Real Cut’ is a platform for aspiring diamond jewellery designers to collaborate with the best of contemporary fashion, giving winners a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their designs along with leading fashion labels at the much-awaited LFW 2019 Winter Festive.

This collaboration underscores the fact that diamonds only enhance the beauty of couture with their timelessness. Owing to the success of the last edition of ‘The Real Cut’, the latest LFW edition takes this unique partnership a notch higher.

The contest is open to diamond jewellery designers associated with leading jewellery brands across India, who have been creating masterpieces over the past three to eight years. The diamond jewellery designers must creatively express the ideation and mastery behind their novel work. Winners will be chosen by an eminent jury panel, which will evaluate them on parameters ranging from quality, innovation, marketability to originality and ability to take their business to the next level.

Richa Singh, Managing Director-India, DPA, said: “Every woman has a special connection with her jewellery, especially her diamonds. After a successful start at the LFW Summer Resort, we are delighted to take our partnership to the next level with the second edition of ‘The Real Cut’.

We realized that there is so much talent in our industry that doesn’t get the recognition they deserve, and we are once more looking for prolific diamond jewellery designs that will complement prêt wear collections by the country’s leading fashion design labels. It is the perfect opportunity for young diamond jewellery designers to celebrate this billion-year-old miracle of nature and display the integral role they can play in everyday wear fashion. I am excited to see the range of designs this season.”

Jaspreet Chandok, Vice-President and Fashion Head- IMG Reliance, said: “We are thrilled with the association as it opens the doors for the entire diamond jewellery design community to interface with the Lakmé Fashion Week. It also provides young talent in an allied industry the leverage of the premier fashion event in the country and we hope some of our discoveries make a major mark in the industry going forward.”

Registrations are open till 9th July 2019. For further details on the application process, guidelines and T&C, visit: http://lakmefashionweek.co.in/home/therealcut_registration .
